Construct a caravan to send your Raider off on an Expedition beyond the Rust Belt.
Expeditions are perilous. Your Raider will carry all their possessions into the unknown beyond the Rust Belt. In return, your next Raider gains a unique edge that lasts until the next Expedition departs.
Undertaking an Expedition means your Raider leaves the Rust Belt for good. Preparing your caravan takes time and resources, and once it departs, much of your progress will be reset. Some rewards and advantages carry over to your next Raider, lasting until the next Expedition begins. These advantages can be increased by continuing to send Raiders on future Expeditions.
An Expedition is a recurring Project that offers players the opportunity to reset the progress of their Raider in exchange for permanent and temporary rewards. Anything inherent to Raider progress is reset, such as level, skills, and inventory. Account-level progress such as cosmetics, achievements, and anything involving real money is preserved. This Project is permanently unlocked once a Raider reaches level 20.
The next Expedition Window is scheduled from April 28, 2026 (11:00 UTC) to May 11, 2026 (07:00 UTC). Eligible players may sign up during this time. Players may also earn up to 5 bonus Skill Points by dealing damage to any valid target over this period.
The Expedition system
The Expedition project is done in six stages.
After completion of all stages of the Expedition requirements, players can decide to depart with their Raider during a departure window.
Departure windows open every few weeks and last for one or two week(s). A Raider needs to explicitly be registered during the departure window to have the skill points bonuses, if the raider isn't registered during that time they will still have a last chance to sign up, during the next log-in, players will get a pop up with the last chance to sign up but no skill points will be granted.
If a Raider is registered for departure, they will have Damage requirements when the departure window closes additional Expedition rewards are granted with their damage values.
After departure, a new Raider must be created, and progression is reset based on the table below.
A new account starts at the requirements and rewards of the first Expedition, and only departures advance players to the next Expedition.
Consecutive departures grant stacking rewards which are only removed if a departure is missed.
Expedition requirements and their current progress are not changed or reset when a departure window is skipped.
To put this into perspective, 100,000 damage is approximately equivalent to destroying 20 Bastions. We have tested these thresholds internally, and found that in a single, very good round, 8,000 - 10,000 damage was an achievable number.
Completing an Expedition gives permanent unlocks and temporary advantages. Temporary buffs can stack up to a maximum of three times for each consecutive departure of Expeditions, but are lost as soon as one departure window is missed.

Notes
+10% repair buff
+30% repair buff
Base repairs give 50% of the item durability. After the durability points for a base repair are calculated, bonus repair points are added as a percentage of repaired points leading to lower repair percentages than expected.
Example: a weapon of 0/130 durability is repaired with a 10% expedition bonus.
It is first repaired to 65 (50% of 130) durability.
Then, the 10% repair buff is calculated 0.1x65 = 6.5 are added, leading to a weapon durability of 72, which is an effective bonus of ~5%, lower than 10%. Instead of an actual 60% repair that would result in 78 durability.
Permanent rewards will persist regardless of if the Expedition project is completed again. Rewards depend upon which Expedition (in order) is completed.

Requirements
These requirements are completed in order, starting from the first Expedition. Only if these are completed and the Expedition has departed, may the next Expedition be started. Rewards are also bound to the associated Expedition.
Building the base structure and frame of the caravan
The following items must be committed to progress to the next stage, and cannot be retrieved.
Loading the caravan with vital supplies. Combat gear, survival equipment, provisions, and repair materials are needed to fully prepare for the Expedition.
The following types of items must be committed to progress to the next stage, and cannot be retrieved.
Your caravan is stocked with necessities and ready to depart on your Expedition. Once the departure window opens, you can choose to send your Raider beyond the borders of the Rust Belt forever. All items remaining in your Raider's stash will be contributed to the Expedition, and your next Raider can earn up to five skill points based on the total value of those items.

Catchup mechanic
The catchup system allows players who completed a previous Expedition without earning all available Skill Points to reclaim the ones they missed during subsequent Expeditions, at a heavily discounted coin cost.
For example, a player who completed the previous Expedition and earned only 3 out of 5 Skill Points can reclaim the 2 they missed. During the next Expedition, earning all 5 Skill Points requires 600k per Skill Point, for a total of 3,000,000 in stash value and coins combined. The 2 missed Skill Points can then be reclaimed for 300k each, bringing the grand total to 3,600,000 to earn all current and reclaimed Skill Points.
A few important notes:
Rewards and requirements may change in future Expeditions, and catchup skill points won't be available indefinitely.
Skill Points can only be reclaimed for Expeditions the player participated in. Players who did not sign up during the Expedition window are unable to reclaim those Skill Points
