The Victory Ridge is a rocky outcrop west of the Alcantara Dam. It was the scene of a fierce battle between ARC and organized Raiders fighting from elevated positions along the ridge. The battle marked the end of the First Wave.
After a decade of ARC onslaught, scattered Raider groups united under the brilliant leadership of Major Aiva, and ARC was finally defeated. The battle raged for several days, littering the landscape with smoking ARC husks and fallen Raiders.
The cost of the victory was devastating. Most who fought at Victory Ridge never returned home, and those who did carried wounds both visible and hidden. Many never truly recovered.
Although a victory against ARC, the Battle of Victory Ridge shattered the unity that had made victory possible. Survivors blamed each other for tactical failures, and feuded over the spoils of war. The unity that had defeated ARC crumbled into bitter rivalries. A monument commemorating the victory was built soon after, but was later vandalized by disillusioned Raiders.
