The Spotter will point a laser at any Raider in line-of-sight, so the Bombardier can accurately target them.

If both Spotters are destroyed, a new pair will respawn. When the Bombardier is destroyed, the Spotters will fly away.

Attack

Doesn't directly attack the player, but instead reveals the position of the player to the Bombardier by pointing a marking laser at them.

The laser needs to maintain a constant line of sight in order to work and can tag you even in places where the Bombardier can't shoot at you.

Combat Tips

The Spotter itself isn't a direct threat to you, but it can enable the Bombardier to engage you from very far distances, as well as from cover that would otherwise prevent the Bombardier from engaging. Killing both Spotters can "blind" the Bombardier, but the Spotters will eventually respawn, so it's ill-advised to do so constantly, as you will waste ammo or items to remove it for only a short period of time.

The Spotter can be nullified by using a variety of tactics that abuse the fact that it doesn't directly attack. First, you can get into a building that the Bombardier can't shoot into. This makes it to where even though the Spotter is actively targeting you, the Bombardier can't use the Spotter in order to shoot at you. Next, you can put a wall or object that breaks the line of sight of the Spotter, breaking the beam and forcing the Spotter to require you. Last, you can use Quick Use items in order to blind, stun, or disorient the Spotter in order to get away or get around it.

Loot Pool

The Spotter Relay is a unique item dropped by the Spotter.

Codex Entry

Often compared to the Snitch, the Spotter reconnaissance drone patrols and scans for Raiders. While it does not call in reinforcements directly, it does make a lot of fuss while relaying Raider positions to other ARC machines.

Despite its size, the Spotter can take considerable punishment. Combined with its unpredictable flight patterns, it's a frustrating opponent to pin down.

Hunting Spotters creates commotion and might draw the attention of opportunistic Raiders looking to eliminate the competition.
