The primary source of electricity in Toledo is solar power. A set of power lines connects the city to a partially repaired solar grid in the western regions of the Rust Belt. Additionally, several rooftop solar panels in Buried City have been integrated into the city’s power grid.
To provide electricity during night-time or outages, the Toledo neighborhoods maintains stockpiles of large batteries. Because the power grid is segmented, different neighborhoods and sectors in Toledo experience varying levels of stability.
A recent uptick in power outages has sparked rumors of sabotage throughout Speranza. So far no one has uncovered any substantial evidence, though some have noticed that Tian Wen has been looking uncharacteristically pleased with herself.
