The Renegade is a lever-action Battle Rifle that uses Medium Ammo. When fully upgraded, it is a powerful weapon in the hands of a skilled marksman.

Although the Renegade favors medium to long-range engagements, it is no slouch when taking the fight inside. Raiders who are crouching and stationary can bullseye targets down range with a level of accuracy similar to the Osprey. Equipping the Renegade with a Silencer II or better deafens every shot enough to make it a great stealth weapon. Albeit, reloading is slow; every shell is loaded individually.

Against ARC enemies, it's consistent damage and firerate makes it powerful for quickly taking out small, ground-based ARC (Such as Pops) with precision. It's also able to quickly knock down poorly armored flying ARC, such as Wasps with ease; its decent accuracy allows it to snipe the ARCs' thrusters off quickly. It instantly does poorly against enemies with large health pools and/or heavy armor, as its ARC Armor Penetration is not high enough to deal good damage to armor of those similar to Bastions.

Against Raiders, it becomes a deadly weapon that profits off long-range precision and makes sure that nobody can touch you if you play your cards right. It's highly accurate fire when standing still/crouching makes it powerful for throwing pot shots at enemies from afar, and it's fast fire rate allows it to overwhelm target near and far. With proper attachments, it's recoil and spread can also be lowered to be devastating in close ranges as well, but it's best to use this weapon at a distance where you gain an advantage, as close-range weapons such as the Vulcano can easily allow enemy Raiders to disarm you if they're close enough. In short, this weapon can be used to poke (if not down) enemies from afar and keep them from approaching you.
