The Mountaineer's Detector is an Rare Gadget that locates objects buried in the sand on Riven Tides and object in the snow of Pendola Pass. Its antenna provides audible and visual feedback based on proximity to a detected object.

Overview
Once in use, movement speed is reduced to a slow walk while detecting for any nearby foreign objects buried around the Raider. The detector will beep at a rate based on the distance to the object, with closer objects having faster beeps.
The Mountaineer's Detector utilizes energy, which is displayed with a meter bar on screen. This energy gradually recharges once the detector is no longer in use.
Upon use, a small portion of the energy meter is immediately consumed; for this reason, it might be a good idea to use the detector for longer periods rather than short intervals.
While it is possible to have multiple detectors, the energy meter is shared among all units on the Raider's person, meaning multiple will not extend the maximum overall duration.
