The Surveyor is a large, armored rolling ARC that stops periodically to transmit signals (shooting a blue beacon towards the sky). It can be identified due to its size and beacon during transmission.
Multiple panels will break off as the Surveyor takes damage. The panels that break off can be looted, and will fall onto the ground where the damage was sustained.
In-Game Lore via World Book:
"Evasive and mysterious, the ARC Surveyor is known amongst Raiders as a rich source of high-value ARC tech. The Surveyor has been observed to roam the surface, and is believed to fill up data-banks with all kinds of measurements and analyses. Although unarmed, it should be noted the ARC Surveyor is not without defensive capabilities. If provoked, it may launch an attack and try to ram whomever is close by."
Attack
The Surveyor will roll into a Raider at high speeds if left no option to escape or when the player is in its way. The roll attack does a decent amount of damage.
Combat Tips
When the Surveyor is scanning it exposes its core. Shooting this weak spot deals increased damage. Once shot, the Surveyor will attempt to roll away. After some time it will begin transmitting again.
Heavy Ammo is effective at removing the armor plating quicker than most other Ammo types.
Stunning the Surveyor with a Hornet Driver while it is transmitting leaves it incredibly exposed.
Attacks can be avoided by:
- Moving behind cover
- Dodge Roll
Note: While uncommon, the Surveyor has been observed rolling off ledges in certain scenarios when running away from an attacker.
