The Shredder appears in Stella Montis, challenging Raiders to stay sharp in close-quarter encounters.
When this relentless lump of menace was first encountered at the Stella Montis facility, it left behind a trail of downed Raiders. It was dubbed the "Shredder" by what few Raiders managed to get back to safety; a name that wasn't so much clever as it was painfully literal.
Attack
The Shredder excels in closed quarters, like the halls of Stella Montis.
- Fires a multi-round burst of shrapnel in all directions as its primary attack, dealing heavy area damage in enclosed spaces.
- Periodically stops to “charge up” and then releases a larger blast/shrapnel cone; this charge gives a short window for counterplay, but is very dangerous if caught in the open.
- It pursues players to close distance and favors engagements where cover and corners limit player escape routes.
Weaknesses & Hit Points
- The Shredder’s propulsion / thruster units (the blue jet / jet-propeller) are consistent weak points players can target for higher damage and to stagger it.
- Explosives (Trigger 'Nade, snap/fuse grenades, and other area explosives) are highly effective, especially when used during or just after the Shredder’s charge animation.
