Ammo for weapons can be found scattered around the map. You can also find ammunition on knocked out raiders and destroyed ARC.

Light Ammo

Light Ammo is mainly used with SMGs and light pistols. It is weak against ARC armor, which means you should be cautious when lots of ARC are about.

Medium Ammo

Medium Ammo is used with some assault rifles and battle rifles. It is somewhat effective against ARC armor.

Heavy Ammo

Heavy Ammo is mainly used with sniper rifles and hand cannons. It is highly effective against ARC armor, making it ideal for taking down armored ARC.
