The Fireball is a fast-moving, ball-shaped ARC machine, usually spotted rolling around indoor areas. It spews fire at any perceived threat in its vicinity, roasting anyone not made out of fire-resistant materials.

With its speed and flame-throwing capabilities, it can cause great trouble for Raiders; in particular when encountered in groups or alongside Ticks.

Attack

When in its aggressive state, a Fireball will roll towards its target and open its front panel, unleashing a long burst of flames using its flamethrower. A Fireball's attack deals serious damage if caught in the flames. Once the Raider is on fire, they will continue to receive burning damage that lasts for a few seconds (regardless of if it is done attacking or has been destroyed).

Combat Tips

Fireballs open their front panel when attacking, exposing their unarmored core. Although the core is weak and can be destroyed by any weapon, the shell that covers it as a Fireball is patrolling is quite strong and requires a Medium Ammo or Heavy Ammo weapon to pierce it. Light Ammo weapons are ineffective against its shell and will bounce off. The easiest ways to deal with a Fireball is either by waiting for its front panel to open and shooting its core or using a hard-hitting weapon like a Ferro or Anvil to pierce its shell.

Attacks can be avoided by:

  • Shooting the Fireball prior to it attacking
  • Vaulting over edges where the Fireball cannot navigate
  • Creating distance between you and the Fireball
  • Dodge Roll

Note: Fireballs coat the nearby surroundings in a blanket of fire once destroyed that will light Raiders on fire.
