A medium sized drone with 2 armored front rotors, spawning commonly while Topside. The Hornet can be identified by its tall skinny body and armored plates on the front two rotors. It fires a taser when in an aggressive state at the Raider.

Usually found patrolling the skies alongside Wasps, in swarms of 2-3 drones. The Hornet also patrols around larger ARC threats on the ground.

Attack

The Hornet will aims a red laser from its gun before firing a slow traveling stun round. If hit the raider becomes stunned, preventing the player from moving or fighting back. The stun round does a substantial amount of damage to a Raiders shields and health.

Combat Tips

Destroying 2 of the Hornets rotors will disable the drones ability to fly, causing it to fall to the ground. If it falls from a high enough height it can be instantly destroyed by it's own momentum. When any flying ARC is stuck on the ground long enough it will burst into flames.

  • 1 Shot per Armor Plate on front rotor
  • 1 Shot per Rotor (Front or Rear)
The attack can be dodged, multiple ways
  • Changing position quickly after the Hornet fires
  • Most effective method is using a roll
  • Moving behind cover
  • Sliding
  • Hiding in bushes & foliage
  • Staying out of Line of sight when in Alerted State
Note:

While the front rotors are armored, they are only armored where the armor plates are. This means that all 4 rotors can be destroyed with 1x heavy ammo.
