Stella Montis uses a unique community-driven unlock system through the "Breaking New Ground" event:
- Players contribute resources to restore tunnels leading to the region
- Contributions earn Merits, a new event currency
- The region unlocks when the community reaches collective progress goals
- Exact unlock timing depends on player participation
